CHIEF OF POLICE-KNOXVILLE

THE CITY OF KNOXVILLE, IOWA (POPULATION 7,313) IS SEEKING CANDIDATES FOR THE

POSITION OF CHIEF OF POLICE. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:GRADUATION FROM A COLLEGE OR

UNIVERSITY WITH A BACHELORS DEGREE IN POLICE SCIENCE, LAW ENFORCEMENT, CRIMINAL

JUSTICE, PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION OR A CLOSELY RELATED FIELD IS PREFERRED. A

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE MAY BE CONSIDERED IN LIEU OF A BACHELORS

DEGREE. EXPERIENCE:TEN(10)YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN POLICE OPERATIONS, INCLUDING

AT LEAST FIVE (5) YEARS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:THE CHIEF OF POLICE IS AN FLSA EXEMPT POSITION

SALARY: NEGOTIABLE DOQ; CURRENT RANGE IS $85,000-$95,000 GENEROUS BENEFIT

PACKAGE INCLUDING: PAID VACATION, SICK LEAVE, PERSONAL LEAVE,HOLIDAYS, MUNICIPAL

FIRE AND POLICE RETIREMENT SYSTEM OF IOWA CONTRIBUTIONS, AND GROUP HEALTH AND
