POLICE CHIEF
CITY OF WEBSTER CITY, IOWA
The City of Webster City, Iowa (population 7,717) is seeking candidates for the position of police chief.
Located in central Iowa, Webster City is the county seat of Hamilton County, Iowa. This is an exceptional

Education Requirements:
Education or experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
within the area of law enforcement or related field.
Experience:
Extensive experience in police work, must have a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience or
a management role within law enforcement.
Salary and Benefits:
The police chief is an FLSA exempt position
Salary: Negotiable DOQ; salary range is $95,000 – $120,000
Generous benefit package including: paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, Municipal Fire and Police
Retirement System (MFPRSI) contributions, group health, dental/vision, life insurance, and flexible
health/dependent care spending plan.
Certification:
Candidates must have a valid Iowa driver’s license, be able to obtain an Iowa Professional Permit
to Carry Weapons, and meet the licensing standards established by the Iowa Law Enforcement
Academy ILEA | Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. The successful candidate (if non-Iowa Certified)
must pass a physical agility test, cognitive exam (POST test), psychological examination (MMPI –
III), physical examination, and drug screen.
Residency:
While the City encourages residing within the city limits, if residence is outside of city limits a thirty five (35) minute response time is required.
